Wayandank – Built in 1853. Captured by the Confederates in 1862.

*C. Vibbard – 4-4-0 (Construction # 1097) Acquired new by USMRR on December 30, 1862. Fell through the Long Bridge into the Potomac. Recovered and Rebuilt. Sold to the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad in 1865.

*Geo. A. Parker – 4-4-0 Acquired new by the USMRR in 1862.

*Union – 4-4-0 built in June 1862 (Construction # 1061). Sent to North Carolina in 1865 to work on USMRR. Sold to Baltimore & Ohio Railroad.

*General Dix – 4-4-0 (Construction # 1095) Acquired new by USMRR on December 23, 1862. Sold to the Virginia Central Railroad in 1865.

Vulcan – 4-4-0 Built in 1862.

Blue Bird

Humming Bird – 4-4-0 (built in 1855, Construction # 633) Acquired by the USMRR on January 25, 1863 from the Philadelphia & Reading Railroad. Sold to W.L. Scott in 1865.

Norris & Son:

Reindeer - 4-4-0 Acquired new by USMRR on October 28, 1862. Sent to North Carolina in 1862 to work on USMRR, still in inventory of USMRR in April 1866.

*E. M. Stanton – 4-6-0 Built in 1862 and originally named “Hercules”.

Romeo

Spark – Built in 1862. Captured by the Confederates in 1862.

Ancient – 4-4-0 Winchester & Potomac Railroad locomotive “Ancient” was captured by federal forces in 1862. Sent to North Carolina in 1863 to work on USMRR, Sold to J. Neilson in 1865.

Romulus – 4-2-0 Portsmouth & Roanoke Railroad locomotive “Romulus” (built in 1839). Then became Seaboard & Roanoke Railroad “Romulus” was captured by federal forces at Portsmouth in 1862. Returned to the Seaboard & Roanoke Railroad in 1865 as junk and scrapped.

*Fire Fly – 4-4-0 Acquired new by USMRR in 1862. Sold to the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad in 1865.

Manfred – 4-4-0 Acquired new by USMRR on January 15, 1863. Sold to the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad in 1865.

May Queen – 4-4-0 Acquired new by USMRR on January 28, 1863. Sold to the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad in 1865.

*Governor Nye – 4-4-0 Acquired new by USMRR on February 18, 1863. Sent to North Carolina in 1865 to work on USMRR, still in inventory of USMRR in April 1866.

Hiawatha – 4-4-0 Acquired new by USMRR on February 10, 1863. Sold to the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad in 1865.

Pickwick – 4-4-0 Acquired new by USMRR on February 5, 1863. Sold to the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad in 1865.

*General J.C. Robinson – 4-4-0 (Construction # 124) Formerly known as the USMRR locomotive “General Haupt” and acquired new by USMRR on January 17, 1863. Renamed “General J.C. Robinson”. Sold to the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad in 1865.

General Sickles – 4-4-0 Construction # 126) Acquired new by USMRR on February 13, 1863. Sold to the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad in 1865.

H. L. Robinson – 4-4-0 (Construction # 123) Acquired new by USMRR on December 26, 1862. Sold to the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad in 1865.

*Clarke – 4-4-0 (Construction # 90) Alexandria, Loudoun & Hampshire Railroad locomotive “Clarke” was captured by federal forces in 1862. Returned to the Alexandria, Loudoun & Hampshire Railroad in 1865.

E. L. Wentz – 4-4-0 built in 1862.

*General Meade – 4-4-0 (Construction # 297) Formerly known as the USMRR locomotive “Stuart Gwynn” and acquired new by USMRR on May 16, 1863. Renamed “General Meade”. Sold to the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad in 1865.

General Couch – 4-4-0 (Construction # 299) Acquired new by USMRR on May 2, 1863. Sold to the North Carolina Railroad in 1865.

Grape Shot - 4-4-0 (Construction # 301) Formerly known as the USMRR locomotive “W.A. Murphy” and acquired new by USMRR on February 23, 1863. Renamed “Grape Shot”. Sent to North Carolina for USMRR service in 1865 then sold to the North Carolina Railroad.

E. Corning - 4-4-0 (Construction # 302) Acquired new by USMRR on April 10, 1863. Sold to the Central Ohio Railroad in 1863.

Secretary – Ran into another train at Union Mills in August, 1862.

D. H. Rucker - 4-4-0 Acquired new by USMRR on November 4, 1863. Sold to the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad in 1865.

Fairfax – 4-4-0 Orange & Alexandria Locomotive ‘Fairfax” (built in 1851 by Smith & Perkins) was captured by federal forces in 1862. Sold to J.A. Graham in 1864.

*Rapidan – 4-6-0 Orange & Alexandria Railroad locomotive “Rapidan” (built in 1856 by Virginia Locomotive and Car Works) was captured by federal forces in 1862. Rebuilt by USMRR. Returned to the Orange & Alexandria Railroad in 1865.

*Lieutenant General Grant – 4-4-0 The Central Railroad of New Jersey Locomotive “Delaware” (built in 1852 by Rogers, Ketchum & Grosvenor, Construction # 326) was purchased by USMRR and renamed.

*Hoosac - 4-4-0 built by John Souther in 1854 for the Fitchburg Railroad.

Champion - 4-4-0 built by John Souther in 1854 for the Fitchburg Railroad.

Lincoln – Built in 1848 by Hinkley & Drury. Probably the engine run into the Chickahominy and destroyed in 1862.

Ontario - Built in 1848 by Hinkley & Drury. Captured by the Confederates in 1862.

Speedwell – Built in 1859. Captured by the Confederates in 1862.

Exeter – Built in 1856. Captured by the Confederates in 1862.
